Reinvent your Tweets!

So if you are like me, you have read 100’s of “Top Ten” lists on how to Tweak your Tweets and by now you feel like you are an expert to the experts.  We have learned not to tweet to much, but if we don’t tweet enough that’s bad too.  Not to mention if you forget to tweet….that’s really awful!

Now that you have accomplished the major Tweeting “fo-paws” what’s next?  You could automate your tweets using Hootsuite or such, but then again……what fun is that?  Speaking of tools, there’s all kinds of measuring systems to check on how many new followers we got today, who tweets and how much, and who unfollowed us.  This info is curiously interesting to some extent, but I have found that after a few days of reading this intriguing research, I suddenly became bored looking at my own stats.

Speaking of bored, isn’t that the main idea of Twitter?  Tweeting appeals to all of us “Let me be entertained” types who need to feed off of the feed!  The news feed that keeps us somewhat “unbored” but nevertheless, always looking for the next delicious dish of 140 characters that is going to spin our heads.  As we scour the tweets of those we chose to follow, the scanning becomes more and more like panning for gold in the West.  Sometimes my pan comes up with a little extra sparkle that makes my eyebrow raise and my finger hit “Retweet” but most of the time I feel like a struggling Twitter addict that can quite get enough out of my hit!

Then comes the blog…….Facebook…….links to the same, and so goes the ideas round and round my head!  Once again, I am suddenly not bored, but excited about how I can do it all again tomorrow.  Reinventing the Tweet means inspiring myself to stay focused, stay entertained, and share my thoughts with thousands of strangers who might surprise me and say they liked it with an “RT”.

This week I tweeted this:  “Inspire me” remember, this what other people are thinking about you.  And yes, it got retweeted.  I decided that all of those top ten lists that I have read that say that being yourself is the most valuable asset when using your Twitter account is spot on advice!

To reinvent your tweets is to stop trying to be like everyone else, and getting back to the core of your Twitter personality….you!
